Dance-Themed Studio Photography

This special offer is available to students who attend Amy-Leigh Academy of Dance. Dancers of all ages are welcome, and you don’t need to be a member of the competition squad to take part.

The studio photography will take place at Linton Village Hall, final dates and location to be confirmed based on interest and bookings.

What Kind of Photos Can I Expect From the Session?

This photo shoot is designed for both beginner and advanced dancers, capturing a dynamic mix of dance-themed shots, acrobatic poses, and individual portraits of each student.

Two Photography Session Options Are Available

Two photography session options are available, depending on how many outfits the student wishes to wear.

30 minute photography session, for dancers with 1 or 2 outfit.

60 minute photography session, for dancers with 3 or 4 outfits.

This offer also includes two 8" x 6" photos (per student) of your selected images.

  • Dancers of all ages are welcome, and you don't need to be a member of the competition squad to take part. Perfect for both beginner and advanced dancers, this photo shoot is designed to capture a dynamic mix of dance-themed shots, acrobatic poses, and individual portraits of each student. The majority of these photographs will be shot on a white background.

There are two photography session options are available, depending on how many outfits the student wishes to wear.

For dancers with 1 or 2 outfit changes, the 30-minute photography session is recommended. £40

For those with 3 or 4 outfits, we recommend the 60-minute photography session. £70

Images from the shoot will be uploaded to a private web gallery for parents and guardians to view. This offer also includes two 8" x 6" photos (per student) of your selected images. Additional prints or high res files are available.

  • Ideally, I would like to start the photography session with the students in their A.L.A.D class uniform. This would be perfect for a warm-up and for producing some general portrait photos of the students in their A.L.A.D uniform.

After the general portrait photos are taken, students will be invited to change into their preferred dancewear. Depending on their age, this may be a simple black two-piece outfit or their first competition costume.

    Dance Outfit:

When selecting your dance outfits, I would recommend vibrant colours to help you stand out on the white background. Dark colours like black work well but white outfits are not recommended for this shoot.

    Acro Outfit:

For students that take Acro classes, I would recommend black shorts or black leggings and a black crop top or black t-shirt.

    Hair:

Please arrive with your hair done as you would for a dance class or competition.

    Footwear:

Additional footwear is not required but if you would like to bring additional footwear with you please do so.

  • The photography session will take place at Linton Village Hall. The exact date is still to be confirmed, but the session will ideally happen on a Sunday. I am hoping to book the hall for 2 to 3 hours and photograph multiple students on the same day. Each student will be allocated a specific time slot to arrive.

    30 Minute Photography Session
The time will be divided as follows: 10 minutes for getting ready (two outfit changes at five minutes each), leaving 20 minutes for photography.

    60 Minute Photography Session
The time will be divided as follows: 20 minutes for getting ready (four outfit changes at five minutes each), leaving 40 minutes for the photography session.

After discussing this with Amy, I believe there will be enough time for students to get changes without feeling rushed. To help the session run as smoothly as possible, I recommend that students arrive dressed in their A.L.A.D class uniform with their hair and makeup done, ready to begin.

  • Location:

Linton Village Hall - Coles Ln, Linton, Cambridge CB21 4JS

    Parking:

The gate on the Village Hall may be locked. I would recommend parking outside or at the far end of the doctor surgery car park.

    My Contact Number:

If you have any issues on the day of the shoot such as parking, finding the location, or running late please feel free to contact me on this number. 07724 833528

    Model Release Form:

For students under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign a model release form prior to the photo shoot. This standard consent form gives permission for your child to be photographed.

What To Expect At The Studio:

The majority of these photographs will be shot on a white background.

    Snacks and Drinks:

Bring along some snacks and drinks, just in case you get hungry or thirsty during the session. Avoid messy snacks that could stain clothing.

    Hair and Makeup:

Please arrive with your hair and makeup done as you would for a dance class or competition. Feel free to bring makeup or hair products for touch-ups during the shoot.

    Skincare and Fake Tan:

If you typically use fake tan for dance competitions, please apply it before the shoot. Fake tan is optional and based on your personal preference.

    Nail Varnish:

For this shoot I would recommend wearing no nail varnish or one that is very light. Please check all your nails are clean and tidy.

  • A parent or guardian is required to attend the photo shoot if the child is under the age of 18.

The photographer on the day will be Jason Edwards. Jason is a recommended photographer by Amy at A.L.A.D and has helped produce many of the images featured on the A.L.A.D website over the past eight years. He is a full-time photographer, DBS-checked, and fully insured with public liability cover.
