Ballet Photography
Our ballet photography sessions are suitable for dancers of all levels, studying classical ballet and contemporary ballet. We offer three styles of ballet photography, allowing us to tailor each session to suit your age, experience, and individual needs, while creating a varied and dynamic set of images.
Why Invest in Ballet Photography?
Ballet photography captures meaningful moments of progress and achievement, creating a lasting record of a dancer’s journey.
For younger dancers, being in front of the camera can be a positive and confidence-building experience. It encourages a sense of pride in what they’ve accomplished, while also allowing them to see their technique from a new perspective.
For those pursuing ballet more seriously, professional images can play an important role in building a portfolio. They help document technique and can be used for auditions, applications, and future opportunities.
Which Photography Style Is Right for You?
We understand that every dancer is at a different stage of their ballet training. That's why we offer a range of ballet photography styles, allowing each session to be tailored to your age, experience, and individual goals.
Older Dancers and Returning Clients
For older dancers, or those returning for a second session, we generally recommend our Creative Ballet Photography. This is our most creative photography style and is designed to help expand your portfolio with a collection of bold, visually striking images.
Young Dancers
For younger dancers, or dancers visiting the studio for the first time, we often recommend dividing the session between Traditional Ballet Photography and Creative Ballet Photography. Beginning with our traditional style gives you time to become comfortable in front of the camera while focusing on your technique and form, before moving on to our more creative photography style later in the session.
Very Young Dancers
For very young dancers who are in the early stages of their dance training, we generally recommend focusing on technique and form with our Traditional Ballet Photography. As their confidence grows throughout the session, we can introduce some of our more creative dance photography poses towards the end of the shoot.
Ballet School Application Photography
We also offer Ballet School Application Photography, which can be added to any ballet photography session. This option is ideal for dancers who require headshots and a selection of posed ballet photographs for ballet school applications or auditions.
-

Creative Ballet Photography
This is our most creative ballet photography style and is especially popular with older dancers looking to take their portfolio to the next level. Photographs are taken in the studio using carefully considered lighting to highlight each dancer’s talent through bold, visually striking poses.
-

Traditional Ballet Photography
Designed for both beginner and advanced dancers, each image is carefully composed to showcase your technique and form. Shot in the studio against a traditional white backdrop, the photographs have an elegant, timeless feel.
-

Ballet School Application Photography
Designed for dancers who require headshots and a selection of posed ballet photographs for their ballet school applications or auditions. This session can be tailored to your individual dance school application requirements.
Browse Our Range of Photography Packages
We offer a range of ballet photography packages, making it easy to choose the session that best suits your needs.
Our two-hour studio session is our most popular option. It gives dancers the opportunity to change into multiple outfits during the photoshoot.
We also offer two additional options: a one-hour session and a three-hour session. The one-hour studio session is recommended for younger dancers or for those planning only a minimal number of outfit changes.
The three-hour studio session is ideal for dancers who need extra time due to the number of outfits they wish to model. It is also well suited for clients who require Ballet School Application Photography.

Duration of the Shoot
On the day of your photo shoot, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before your booking so you can make the most of your time in the studio.
Photography Style
Each session is tailored to suit the dancer’s individual ability and age. During the shoot, we include a variety of photographic styles to create a dynamic mix of dance photos. Choosing a longer studio session, such as the three-hour option, allows more time to experiment with different lighting setups, backgrounds, and creative ideas.
Model Release Form
For clients under the age of 18, a parent or guardian will need to sign a model release form prior to the photoshoot. This standard consent form grants permission for their child to be photographed.
Health & Safety
As full-time professional photographers, we are DBS-checked and fully insured with public liability cover. Certificates are available on request. Clients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times during the photo shoot.
