Dance Academy Photography - Information Page
Hi, it’s Jason here from Elite Portrait Photography.
I thought it would be a good idea to put this page together with a little bit of information about myself and the work I do as a full-time photographer.
As you may know, I have been working with Amy from ‘Amy-Leigh Academy Of Dance - Cambridge’ for the past eight years, helping to produce content for her website and social media accounts.
Although I spend most of my weekdays doing portraits in a London studio, I’ve recently decided that, with all the dance photography I’ve captured while working with A.L.A.D., now would be a great time to reach out to new local dance academies and start promoting myself a bit more.
I hope my photography will help you grow your business and give your students the opportunity to have professional photographs taken in their academy uniforms or competition dance wear, in a relaxed environment with their friends.
Please feel free to browse my site and take a look at some of my recent dance and academy photography. If you think this would be an exciting opportunity for your students, or could help promote your business, please get in touch.
What Is the Purpose of Dance Academy Photography?
Dance academy photography is designed to be beneficial for both the academy and the students who take part in the photo shoot. The images captured during the session will be available for the academy to use on their website and social media.
Because the photography is organised through the dance school, it can be tailored specifically to your needs. This may include group shots, dance pairs, individual portraits, team photographs (if space allows), and even staff headshots if required. All photos will be taken against a white background, giving them a clean and fresh look that works well for websites and social media. The white background also makes the images ideal for combining with text and using in advertising materials.
These photographs are intended to help promote and grow your business. After the session, students who participated will be able to view the gallery of images. They will have the opportunity to purchase prints or order high-resolution digital files for use on their personal social media accounts (if they have one).
What Kind of Photos Can I Expect From the Session?
Dance academy photography is designed to benefit both the academy and the students who take part in the photo shoot. It is suitable for both beginner and advanced dancers, capturing a dynamic mix of dance-themed shots, acrobatic poses, individual portraits, and group photographs.
-

Photoshoot location:
Normally, for convenience, I will bring my studio equipment with me, including lights and a large white studio background, to take the photos at the academy. That is if the dance academy has enough space.
The duration of this shoot:
Normally, dance academy photography sessions are scheduled for between three or four hours. This is entirely up to personal preference and can be decided by each dance academy individually.
What to expect at the photoshoot:
The majority of these photographs will be shot on a white background giving them a clean and fresh look that works well for websites and social media. The white background also makes the images ideal for combining with text and using in advertising materials.
Model release form:
For students under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign a model release form prior to the photo shoot. This standard consent form gives permission for your child to be photographed.

If you are interested, please get in touch. Pricing for the service depends on the location of the dance school, the amount of time required for the photo shoot, and the number of students being photographed.
I’m offering this service at an introductory price so I can collaborate with more dance academies, helping me grow both my business and dance portfolio.
