Dance Academy Photography

Hi, Jason here from Elite Portrait Photography.

I thought it would be a good idea to put this page together with a little bit of information about myself and the work I do as a full-time photographer.

As you may know, I have been working with Amy from ‘Amy-Leigh Academy Of Dance - Cambridge’ for the past eight years, helping to produce content for her website and social media accounts.

Although I spend most of my weekdays shooting portraits in a London studio, I’ve recently decided that, with all the dance photography I’ve captured while working with A.L.A.D., now would be a great time to reach out to new dance academies and start promoting myself a bit more.

I would like to start offering my photography services to your academy to hopefully help grow your business while giving your students the chance to have professional, dance-themed photographs taken.

What Is the Purpose of Dance Academy Photography?

My dance academy photography is designed to benefit both the academy and the students who take part in the studio photo shoot. The images captured during the session will be available for the academy to use on its website and social media, while students will have the opportunity to purchase prints or digital files of their portraits.

Because the photography is organised through the dance school, it can be tailored specifically to your needs. This will include group shots, dance pairs, individual dance-themed portraits, and even acro and gymnastics-style photography if required. All the photos will be taken against a large white studio background, giving them a clean and fresh look that works well for websites and social media. The white background also makes the images ideal for combining with text and using in advertising materials.

What Kind of Photos Can I Expect From the Session?

My dance academy photography is designed to benefit both the academy and the students who take part in the photo shoot. It is suitable for both beginner and advanced dancers, capturing a dynamic mix of dance-themed shots, acrobatic poses, individual portraits, and group photographs.

  • Dance Academy Photography

Dance academy photography highlights the connection between dancers, capturing the camaraderie, pride, and shared achievements that make your academy truly special.

  • Dance-Themed Portraits

Dance-themed portraits tailored for aspiring young dancers. Every photo is thoughtfully composed to highlight both your technique and form.

  • Acro-Style Photography

Acro and gymnastics-style photography focuses on capturing visually striking flexibility poses that showcase the dancer’s control, strength, and range of motion.

  • I’m offering this service at an introductory price so I can collaborate with more dance academies, helping me grow both my business and dance portfolio.

Pricing for the service depends on the location of the dance academy, the amount of time required for the photo shoot, and the number of students being photographed.

Please feel free to browse my site and take a look at some of my recent dance and academy photography. If you think this would be an exciting opportunity for your students, or could help promote your business, please get in touch.

  • Photoshoot Location:

For your convenience, I usually bring my studio equipment to your academy, including a large white studio background and professional studio lighting (provided there’s enough space available).

    The Duration of This Shoot:

Normally, dance academy photography sessions are scheduled for between two or four hours. This is entirely up to personal preference and can be decided by each dance academy individually.

What to Expect at the Photoshoot:

The majority of these photographs will be shot on a white background giving them a clean and fresh look that works well for websites and social media. The white background also makes the images ideal for combining with text and using in advertising materials.

    Model Release Form:

For students under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign a model release form prior to the photo shoot. This standard consent form gives permission for your child to be photographed.

    Health & Safety:

The photographer on the day would be Jason Edwards. Jason is a recommended photographer by Amy at A.L.A.D and has helped produce many of the images featured on the A.L.A.D website over the past eight years. He is a full-time photographer, DBS-checked, and fully insured with public liability cover.
